Giving Me Life: July Picks
Podcast: Drama Queens
The ladies of One Tree Hill have reunited and it feels so good!! They are watching every episode of OTH from start to finish and doing a recap for each episode. That is right, I finally feel validation for refusing to throw away my DVD collection of seasons 1-4 of One Tree Hill. I am breaking out those DVDs, dusting off my DVD player and am here for this! The best part is they share behind the scenes stories of what they thought was happening way back when vs. what was actually happening way back when now that they have more perspective. If you were as obsessed as I was, this is a can’t miss. Go Ravens!!
Product: SuperGoop Unseen Sunscreen
I love a good sunscreen! Let me share why. When I was a senior in high school, our sex ed teacher had us do this activity meant to bring the class closer together. We were to write our name on a poster board and pass it around to the entire class. Each person in the class anonymously wrote what they thought of when they saw your name. Long story short, it didn’t bring us closer together. Overwhelmingly, the most common thing written on my poster was “Casper” because although I was friendly, I was still see through. Unfortunately for my 17 year old self, I took that as a bad thing and to correct this I went over to my friends house, covered myself in vegetable oil and laid outside on the blacktop. To say I looked like a ready to eat lobster is an understatement. Since that day, I have learned to love the skin I am and am always looking for products to take care of it. This weekend I relied on Unseen Sunscreen and it worked great. Even better when my sweat inevitably sent the sunscreen into my eye, it didn’t hurt or make me tear up. This is a win for me and we have to celebrate wins, big and small.
Drink: Cutwaters
I have never been on the seltzer train. I was just never impressed with the flavors, they made me burp at really inappropriate times, and people would shame me for adding vodka to the top. Rude. I get why some people love them, they are gluten-free friendly and come in a can which makes it really easy to drink out on the beach or tailgates or on your stoop. They are just not my thing, I would always be the girl missing the punch line of the joke because I was making a cocktail. Not now though, thank you cutwater for putting my preferred drinks in cans. I am proud to say I finally was able to laugh with the group about all the recent Tinder dating fails we have had.
I probably don’t need to clarify this, but I will. I am not sponsored, I just really like things and want to talk about them. Hope you enjoy the July picks that are giving me life!
